I have a series of four crime/romance novels that I’m scripting gradually, as the story would be ideal for a TV drama series or even a movie. I’m just dubious of spending my savings on pitches, to have someone thousands of miles away - read and recommend my pitch… who then says it can’t be done from the UK. How does it work? Do I need to pitch to UK executives?

No Beverly Thompson - you can pitch from anywhere. Keep in mind that if you sell your screenplay, you won't be the one "making it". It'll be in the hands of the producers and directors from that point.

Definitely not a disadvantage - i've heard from multiple managers in the past year that it's not a barrier whatsoever anymore. Execs understand great stories can come from anywhere and thanks to Zoom, it's easy to connect with anyone anytime!
We do have some UK reps taking pitches coming up like Luke Scrase, Literary Manager & Producer, Golden Gate Studios (London based). Check him out here: https://www.stage32.com/happy-writers/pitch-sessions/Pitch-Luke-Scrase-S...

I agree with Pat, not a disadvantage. Thank you Zoom - just be sure to have your virtual setup ready, practice with a colleague or friend before the actual pitch. Please email Success@Stage32.com for more Exec recommendations - we know which Execs are looking for different kind of material and can help match you with someone in the UK or interests in UK scripts.
