To remake Billy Wilder's "Ace in the Hole," a fave I saw in a revival house except this version has flying saucers and a science fiction twang instead of a cursed Indian mountain. Less cynicism, too.

Homage to cheesy Sci-Fi B-movies also seen at the same revival house and the Cold War Fifties when UFO hysteria reigned and people found menace in their bowls of Cheerios.

You mentioned the puply comic cover art I posted earlier. That's a comic a seven-year-old boy character reads. It's an example of America's fears in that era were made manifest.
