Spent last 12 months building a TV/film slate out of Port Harcourt. Three pilots complete.
Result: First wave of exec reads came back last month. Notes were brutal. Rewrites done. Second wave of reads now happening.
No deal yet. But the doors are opening.
Lesson: Your location is not your limitation. The work travels.

3 pilots eh? You beat my record of 2 pilots. The problem is my show has to b3 current so 2018 is already historic TV. I also, due to the murder of an irreplaceable actor, had to rewrite the show but not totally because AI is advanced enough. Don’t worry about others' reactions. Write your story with as many pilots as you like. and if Trump wants to sign you up, that's when I'd start to worry. I am enjoying all 80 episodes of my show over and over so I know it's good. It's like ICE and illegals. The assumption is an unknown writer is a bad writer. Fools make their beds and plant their gardens. I make and plant mine. I'm happy.

Ezeonu Juliet This is a powerful and motivating post with a strong sense of authenticity. The honesty about receiving “brutal” notes, doing the rewrites, and continuing the process makes it feel real and relatable, which is what makes it land so well.
The structure is clean and effective clear journey, clear progress, and a strong takeaway. The line “Your location is not your limitation. The work travels.” is especially impactful and memorable.
If anything, you could expand slightly on what shifted between the first and second wave of reads to add a bit more insight, but even as it stands, the simplicity works in your favor.
Overall, a concise, inspiring post that communicates resilience and forward momentum in a very compelling way.
