When three trafficked teenage girls are found dead inside a sealed shipping container at Durban harbour, a compromised freight investigator, a homicide detective, and a framed port systems analyst race to save the one surviving girl and expose the respected logistics tycoon using legitimate trade to move people, money, and power through the port.

Dead Freight is a grounded South African crime thriller set inside the hidden world of Durban’s port, freight yards, cold-storage depots, truck routes, and corporate logistics networks.

The series follows Tariq Maseko, a freight security investigator with a compromised past; Lindi Ndlovu, a relentless homicide detective; and Sima Naicker, a port systems analyst whose credentials are used to frame her. Together, they uncover a criminal freight architecture built inside legitimate trade.

At the centre is Adrian Venter, a respected logistics executive whose public image hides his control of a network moving trafficked people, cash, weapons, and influence through the harbour system.

Season One tracks the investigation from the opened container to inland depots, truck wash handoffs, police obstruction, shell companies, and a final port-side confrontation. The central engine is simple: save the surviving girl, expose the route, and bring down the man controlling the machine before the evidence disappears.
