In one tense music workshop in a juvenile detention center rec room, Jamie - a young corporate lawyer in over his head - tries to impose structure on a group of detained teens and quickly loses the room. When Destiny calls him out and gives a raw, moving performance, the session pivots and Jamie, and we, begin to dive more deeply into the truth of these kids and their heartbreaking stories. THE SESSION is a five-minute proof-of-concept short which I wrote, directed and produced. It condenses several scenes from the feature screenplay JDs* (*Juvenile Delinquents/Juris Doctor) into one. Hi Banafsheh, nice to e-meet you! Thanks, although I though "Filmmaking / Directing" made sense since I directed the Proof of Concept... But wide open to learning the ins and outs of the Stage 32 world, and to any tips about how to connect with possible collaborators/producers who can help get the film made.
