A pitch deck can also kill your submission. What makes this happen? Because the creative exec will have their own internal visions of the way things look, and if the pitch deck doesn't match the vision, it's dead. Also, if they look at the pitch deck and don't like what they see then they read the script with a bias. I've only seen one pitch deck in my 20 years of working at the studios and helping indie filmmakers that matched the script.
