Introducing Myself: Creator of SONIA, Looking to Connect with Producers and Creative Collaborators

Hello everyone,

My name is Emil Soliman, and I'm delighted to be part of the Stage 32 community.

I'm a writer currently developing SONIA, an original 30-episode audio drama series, with each episode running approximately 5–8 minutes. The first season is complete, and I'm now refining the professional synopsis and presentation materials while beginning to outline the second season.

What excites me most as a writer isn't simply creating mystery, but exploring the people behind it. My stories focus on trust, identity, memory, and the emotional choices we make when certainty isn't possible. I believe the most memorable stories are the ones that stay with the audience long after they end.

I'm hoping to connect with producers, writers, directors, and creative collaborators who enjoy character-driven storytelling and are passionate about developing meaningful original projects for an international audience.

In return, I bring commitment, a completed first season, a long-term vision for the project, and a collaborative mindset. I value honest feedback, professional relationships, and the belief that the best projects are built through trust, shared purpose, and mutual respect.

I'm looking forward to meeting more members of this wonderful community, learning from your experiences, and building lasting professional relationships.

Thank you, and I wish everyone continued success with your creative projects.

Best regards,

Emil Soliman

Hi! Since you're looking for collaborators and I'm a screenwriter, would it be possible to read the story first? I'd like to understand the film, or whatever creative project you're working on, before discussing any collaboration.

Emil Soliman

Hi Hani,

Thank you for your interest in SONIA. I really appreciate your message.

Just to clarify, SONIA is an original audio drama series, not a feature film. The first season is complete and consists of 30 episodes, with each episode running approximately 5–8 minutes.

At this stage, I'm looking for the right producer or production company to bring the project to life rather than a co-writer. However, I'd be happy to share the professional synopsis with you first. If the concept interests you, I'd genuinely appreciate hearing your thoughts as a fellow screenwriter.

Thank you again, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Welcome, Emil! SONIA sounds like a strong concept the short-episode audio drama format is smart, and focusing on trust/identity/memory over pure mystery mechanics is what makes those stick. Completing a full season already puts you ahead of most people who show up talking about ideas. How's the outlining for season two going, easier or harder now that you know the characters better?

"I was speaking about your projects in general. Anyway, post an announcement on the platform to find a producer; it's free."

Emil Soliman

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment.

Interestingly, I think it's become both easier and more challenging at the same time.

It's easier because I know the characters much more deeply now. They no longer feel like fictional characters—they feel like people whose choices and emotions I understand.

At the same time, it's more challenging because I want the second season to surprise the audience while remaining true to everything that made the first season meaningful. My goal isn't simply to make the mystery bigger, but to make the emotional journey even deeper.

Thank you again for your encouragement. I really appreciate it.

Emil Soliman

Thank you, Hani. I appreciate the clarification and your advice.

That's a great suggestion, and I'll definitely look into posting an announcement. My goal is to find the right producer or production company who connects with the vision of SONIA.

Thank you again, and I wish you all the best with your projects.

Hi Emil, and welcome to Stage 32!

I really enjoyed reading your introduction, especially this thought:

“What excites me most as a writer isn’t simply creating mystery, but exploring the people behind it.”

That really resonated with me. I believe the most compelling stories aren’t remembered simply because of the mystery or the plot, but because of the people at the center of it and the choices they make when everything is on the line.

Your focus on trust, identity, memory, and emotional truth sounds like a strong foundation for character-driven storytelling, and I wish you all the best as you continue developing SONIA.

I hope Introduce Yourself Weekend brings you some wonderful conversations and creative collaborations. Looking forward to seeing your journey unfold!

Emil Soliman

Hi Charmane,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful message and warm welcome.

I'm especially grateful that the line about exploring the people behind the mystery resonated with you. That's really the heart of SONIA. For me, mystery is what invites the audience in, but it's the characters and their emotional choices that give the story lasting meaning.

I truly appreciate your encouragement, and I hope Stage 32 leads to many inspiring conversations and meaningful collaborations for both of us.

Wishing you continued success, and thank you again for your kind words.

Warm regards,

Emil Soliman
