Abhijeet Aade Thanks for the kind words and support, Abhijeet. Every trip I take to each nomination of the 9 feature screenplays I have is always an adventure: A different city representing their own film festivals is always fun. The fests I’ve attended had landed me in the following places—

Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Pasadena ( All in CA), Atlanta, GA, Block Island, RI, and Columbia, SC. I few were repeated trips, due to repeated nominations. Looking forward to packing my bags for the NEXT one!! : )

Maurice Vaughan HA! Yea, OF COURSE I CAN READ. Imagine a writer who couldn’t?? I’m aware of THR. Just can’t find the time to follow it…. But I should.

I used to read THR, Bill Brock. Variety and Deadline Hollywood too. I read one article/a few articles at a time when I had the time. I might start back reading them.

Maurice Vaughan Here’s my current stack of books resting on my dining room table—

1. THE MAKING OF TOOTSIE

(Dustin Hoffman’s 1982 Oscar-winning comedy)

2. THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN

(The IP for the 1957 Sci-Fi classic film)

3. BRAT

(Written by “Brat Pack” actor Andrew McCarthy,

who explores the highs and dreadful lows of being a member of this very exclusive 1980s celebrity club.)

4. ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD

(The novel written by Quentin Tarantino. Didn’t

really care for the film. Hope the book does a better job.)

5. THE MAKING OF TOMBSTONE

(A true account of the disastrous and dreadful making of one of the greatest Westerns of all time— 1993’s TOMBSTONE.

I've heard of those films, Bill Brock. I didn't know there were book versions. What's your favorite of those movies?

Maurice Vaughan TOOTSIE to me is the BEST Comedy script ever! The story is brilliant. Comedic conflicts are endless. Great pacing, topped with an extraordinary ending. I’ve yet to read any of them, but now that I’ve returned home, I’ll soon be turning the pages of MAKING TOOTSIE. Have you seen it? It was Oscar nominated for 10 Oscars, but only claimed one for Jessica Lang (Best Supporting Actress).

Bill Brock That’s quite a journey, especially with nine feature screenplays making it to nominations. I can imagine the festival travel itself becomes part of the experience, with every city and festival bringing a different group of filmmakers and perspectives.

Beverly Hills, Atlanta, Block Island, Columbia… that’s a pretty interesting list of stops. I hope the next nomination takes you somewhere completely new. Best of luck, and enjoy the next adventure! :)

Abhijeet Aade Thanks, again, Abhijeet. Just returned from CA. I didn’t win the Best Screenplay Category, but it still was pretty cool being 1 of only 4 nominees in an international film fest. Enjoyed Burbank very much, but also nice to be home. Now that I’m back, focus will be on the following: working on my final screenplay, a psychological drama called FALLING. Also spending more time on my award-winning, horror screenplay, HORROR-FEST, which will soon be published and sold through Amazon. Also have a company creating a website and trailer devoted to the screenplay. Also have a friend putting together a pitch deck for “my little horror tale.” Lots of Good Stuff happening!
