Hi everyone,
My name is Maqbool Ahmad Durrani. I’m a director, writer, and producer with over two decades of background across television and independent film production.
Most recently, I wrote, directed, and produced the feature film Barrier, which has earned international recognition on the festival circuit, including Best Feature Film at the India Independent Film Festival.
As we look ahead at distribution, VOD avenues, and packaging future narrative projects, I’m keen to connect with distributors, aggregators, sales agents, and fellow producers here on Stage 32.
Always open to discussing new distribution models and creative collaborations. Looking forward to connecting with the community!

Welcome, Maqbool, and congratulations on Barrier! Your timing is interesting, especially as you’re now exploring distribution and VOD opportunities. I’d also be happy to invite you to FilmPlatforms, an international community bringing filmmakers, producers, distributors and other industry professionals together. I think Barrier and your experience could add something valuable to the conversations there.

Comgrats on Barrier! What is it about?
Amanda Toney In a barricaded sector of Quetta, Balochistan, ten-year-old Raza and his mother, Sajida—members of the Hazara community—live under the looming threat of genocide. One day, circumstances compel Raza to venture beyond the barrier alone, forcing him into a world he has learned to fear and has never before explored. Soon, both mother and son face situations beyond their wildest imaginations.
