It usually works well to mix in some humor and some interesting information (for example, history) with whatever your main message is. Were you given a topic, or have you chosen one already? Whatever it is, try to address common questions or problems that you think people at the church will have experienced with respect to Halloween, and bring out thoughts they can relate to (like, if they DO celebrate it, there's the whole funny thing about eating all the candy before the kids arrive). So definitely consider incorporating humor somehow. ~ My two cents. :-)
