While I certainly do not take Miley seriously, I do feel sorry for her. She's a victim of the machine. She's so young. She's been coached by some horrible people. I hate it when a former child star seems to think, or is told, that being outrageously sexual somehow makes them adults. "I'm all grown up now, see!" It's ridiculous. Short sighted. Unfortunate. Wasteful. Where the hell are her parents? Oh yeah... right.

Miley was in Sydney recently and used dwarfs on stage, her actions around them were distasteful. Not eye candy. She's creating a vulgar image that unfortunately young girls will, in their ignorance, accept and in some cases emulate. Don't the females of this generation have enough difficulty with choosing role models without this? even cloths for kids are no longer for kids, but quite suggestive. 'Little streetwalkers'. Why must this generation of girls be presented with such low standards to aspire to?

Couldn't disagree with you more Bruce. Using shock as your only means of getting attention does not make a career. Being the latest subject in Twitter or in some web news feed does not give one status or longevity. Miley certainly is not Madonna, Lady Gaga or even Justin Timberlake. She is not making savvy business or career moves here. She is making a parody of herself. It's not about her talent at all. Notice she's doing the same things over and over.... She'll be long forgotten.
Bruce - I'm referring to your point about Miley's antics "giving her career a boost." I'm stating that her shock antics, while momentarily getting her attention on web news feeds, will not aid her career in the long run. Her career will never surmount to the successful careers of other comparable artists who either have also used controversy (smartly, like Madonna or Lady Gaga) in their careers or have navigated themselves through child stardom and evolved into adults with solid careers (Justin Timberlake).
