Good news on your script Jason. My name is Kevin and I live in Paso Robles, still working on the whole moving down to LA thing. Have one script already finished, but as of yet I am still without representation. Whenever I call an agent they say to have a manager send them the script, and when I call a manager they say to have an agent send the script... Recently I have been reading the book Blackwater by Jeremy Scahill and have found that to be quite the interesting read; the other book that I read lately was Adventures In The Screen Trade by William Goldman.

Hello Kevin, I feel your pain. I was LUCKY enough to get an agent, the guy liked my script but only wanted to help if I had an offer. I had to do all my own leg work with no connections whatsoever. I queried over 800 companies till the script got into the right hands. But when it came down to the contract my agent stepped up and helped me negotiate the deal. My agent still won't do anything unless I hand everything to him. But it is so hard to get someone to represent an unknown entity so I deal with it. I use his name to get my work out there. To get any movie made is a series of small miracles. Get your work out there, agent or not.

Hi Jason, I'm so there with you. I went on the treadmill from Kickstarter to the other one. I forgot the name. You're right about the order of how things will be done. How can you make your movie without the money? Kickstarter will put you through a rigorous process of pitching and justifying why your project is apart from the rest. Kickstarter has a good reputation for getting people up and running. Give it a shot. What have you got to lose? All the best, MindyG

Mindy, First of all, thanks for responding to my post. I thought about kick starter for like a minute then thought to myself, even if I do come up with funds, what the hell am I going to do with it? Being a newbie with zero connections leaves me with a script, funds and no idea of how to make this whole thing work. It's so daunting just to think about but it's still the same reason why I do it. Why not? There are people out there than can help and with a bit of luck...a lot of luck ( who am I kidding) hopefully I will find them. To me, failure is not an option. To have gone as far as I have with no degree or connections tells me there is hope. So, why not me? My idea is just as good or better than the last guy. That's what keeps me going. It's not impossible, just difficult. So why not?

Obviously, you feel me Sidney. Similar story? Same frustrations? Same determination? What it boils down to is...give it your best shot. No one can stop you from trying, no matter who they are.
