Introduce Yourself : Hello everyone. by Bill Lee Brown

Bill Lee Brown

Hello everyone.

I'm new to Stage 32. I'm from Baltimore, MD; been in Los Angeles over 20 years. I'm an Actor, Writer, and I am packaging my first feature as a Producer. I have a great script (dramedy), name talent attached, now I'm knocking on doors...$ doors that is. I co-wrote the feature film "The Trace" (2012). If I can be of any assistance don't hesitate to reach out.

Richard "RB" Botto

Welcome to the community, Bill. Best of luck with the feature!

Bill Lee Brown

Thank you, RB.

Richard "RB" Botto

For sure, Bill.

Kenya Hendricks

Would love to pick your brain Bill. I have alot of projects that I love and just want to know what to do next

Bill Lee Brown

A lot? Where would you like to start? Take one at a time, Kenya and hit me with a question. Which one of your projects are you most passionate about?

Kenya Hendricks

Ok..well how do you put an idea or script into the hands of the actors you tailored it especially for.

Ye Er

Good to know...

Bill Lee Brown

Kenya, first and foremost (I know I'm preaching to the choir here), but make sure that your script is super tight. Not many people will put there reputations on the line or use up a favor if your script is not tight...structure and story. Then, if you have a direct line to that actor...take it! I was lucky. The four actors I have attached to my script, I worked with, as an actor, either on a film; TV show, or on stage . If you have to go the six degrees route...do it! Do you know anyone that knows this actor? Do you know anyone that knows someone that knows this actor? Do you know anyone that knows someone that knows someone that knows this actor? You get the picture. The ONLY right way to get to your actor is the one that works. If you really want to get to this actor it has to be a burning obsession. Do you know anyone that knows his agent or manager? If your script is super tight and is really tailored to this actor, one of his reps just might read it...if your pitch is strong enough. Have you entered your script into any screenwriting competitions where it made some serious noise and rose to the top of the heap? Reps love award winning screenplays. Who is this actor? Put it out there. Someone in Stage 32 might know how to get to your actor. You never know. But you must put it out there. Are you a member of IMDB-PRO? You can look your actor up and see practically everything they've done and who they've worked with. Do you know anyone they've worked with. And on and on and on... You can do it, Kenya!

Kenya Hendricks

Thanks so much. I have 4 in competition now. (Pray for me) (fingers crossed) but I will make sure its 100% ready for the prospective actor/actress. You encourage me so much I am ready! I can do it! (Sorry I love adam sandler..lol. thanks again Bill

Bill Lee Brown

Adam Sandler is cool. He can use a hit. You might want to find out if his production company accepts unsolicited scripts. If not, maybe you can get an agent or a friend's agent to submit it for you. But a connection is always best. Make it happen, Kenya!
