SYNOPSIS:

When the human race poisons its own world through greed, overconsumption, and biowarfare, Earth becomes a dying sphere. Crops fail, the oceans sour, and a genetically engineered plague wipes out half the population. From the ashes rises a desperate attempt to survive: human scientists send a signal across the void, begging for help.

Four hundred million miles away, on the cold, storm-wracked planet Verrath, the signal is received—not by humans, but by a species created to destroy them.
