About Kia

I am an award-winning Producer. I have made music videos, social issue feature documentaries (available on Netflix), TV pilots and network promos for several hit CBS shows. Those who have worked with me know I have a knack for shepherding a project from idea to screen. My main passion is producing stories which entertain, inspire and ultimately transform people’s lives.

I was 12 years old when my love affair with filmmaking began. Even then, I was keenly aware of media’s possibilities to have positive impact on a large scale. I has over 80 credits in TV, features, documentaries, commercials and music videos. My unique job trajectory and combination of skills has built a solid foundation for my producing career.

I earned a B.A. in Moving Image Arts with a Minor in Business from the Santa Fe University of Art and Design. I was a union Camera Assistant, a Telecine Colorist, a Production Coordinator, and a VFX Coordinator/Liaison to Director at Rhythm & Hues (“Life of Pi”).

I am a member of: Producers Guild of America, Diversity in Producing Committee; Los Angeles City College Film/TV Department Advisory Board; and Media Access Awards Committee & am the Co-Chair of the PGA's Employment Committee.

Inspired To Ride follows closely the journey of a handful of these cyclists as they prepare, compete and experience what riding 300 miles a day feels like with only a few hours sleep. These racers will rely solely on their fitness, meticulously chosen gear and mental fortitude to get them to the finish. There are no support teams, no follow vehicles and no prize money waiting at the end. They will endure agonizing climbs in the Rockies, driving winds in the Great Plains and sawtooth switchbacks in the Appalachians all for a pat on the back, bragging rights and a cold beer when its all over. Last Man Standing (1996)
Film (Action, Crime, Drama and Thriller) Miscellaneous Crew John Smith is an amoral gunslinger in the days of Prohibition. On the lam from his latest (unspecified) exploits, he happens upon the town of Jericho, Texas. Actually, calling Jericho a town would be too generous--it has become more like a ghost town, since two warring gangs have 'driven off all the decent folk.' Smith sees this as an opportunity to play both sides off against each other, earning himself a nice piece of change as a hired gun. Despite his strictly avowed mercenary intentions, he finds himself risking his life for his, albeit skewed, sense of honor.... Written by Tad Dibbern <DIBBERN_D@a1.mscf.upenn.edu>
