Young Andy Beaird dreams of being a man of the law. He and his parents, Joan and Howard, have grown used to living with unwanted guests. Mrs. Elliot, Mr. Gree, and Mr. Anglin won’t leave their house. The trio drives them mad, filling their rooms with bugs, throwing crumbled notes at their heads, and playing the piano all night.
