A young pastor must fight the local government to reclaim the land he needs to build his church. To do this he’ll need to find strength through leadership, community, and of course his faith.
SYNOPSIS:
Young pastor Josh Evans and his family have been dreaming of building a new church for their community. Josh has taken over his late father’s role as pastor of the small church group they started. Before his death, Josh’s father bought a piece of land which would make for the perfect location to one day build their dream church. It’s later revealed that Josh and his family have inherited several successful investment accounts from his father, which can provide them with the necessary funds needed to construct the church. Josh and his church get everything in order, all until it’s discovered that a corrupt city councilmen has used eminent domain to steal their land from under them. Outraged by this abuse of power Josh and his congregation start a campaign to petition the city to give them back their land. Along with Josh, the city’s abuse of power is felt by Josh’s mentee Nathan, and the councilmen’s assistant, Rian. Nathan is a recovering alcoholic who has been fighting on his own since the passing of Josh’s father. Rian wants to pursue a career in local government, but is forced to question her own values after seeing what her boss can do to a loving community. Rian is fired after signing the church’s petition. When the petition fails, an unexpected source provides them with unusual instruction to reclaim their land. Over the next week Josh needs to lead a peaceful march with his congregation around the property. This causes a lot of unwanted attention to the councilmen’s project, so he begins using media and police to shut the church down. When that doesn’t work the councilman offers Josh a new plot of land in an inconvenient location. While the offer is tempting, Josh feels that it’s God’s will to continue the march. He does so and is met with excessive force from the city. Josh get’s arrested but given one last chance to make things right. Josh is then later told from Nathan’s sponsor that Nathan might be out of control and do something extreme. Josh and Rian find him at the construction site and stops him from causing a fire. The final day of the march, and the first day of the councilmen’s construction, Josh refuses the councilmen’s offer in exchange for the chance to march peacefully. They do so, and as result, all of the councilman’s plans come falling down right before them. The corruption is exposed, Josh is given his land back and the congregation finally get to build their church.
