COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS
By Steve Brody Ph.D.

GENRE: Drama
LOGLINE:

When an ordinary man tosses money into a Salvation Army bell-ringer’s pail, he's granted his wish of redoing his life, but after realizing how extraordinary his life actually was, he has only two weeks till Christmas to replicate everything he had done, including letting his brother board a doomed airplane, in order to return to his wife and family. (It's a Wonderful Life meets Back to The Future. Also available in MOW format.)

SYNOPSIS:

Do you ever wish you could redo your life? Marry a different person, perhaps. Or choose a different career path.

Rich Banner wishes he had stayed playing music when his old band buddy receives a Grammy. After all, that could have been him getting that Grammy!

So when his granddaughter says "Make a wish, Grandpa" at his 65th birthday party, he half-jokingly wishes there were 40 less candles on the cake.

And you know what they say about being careful what you wish for. Rich is given his wish by an eccentric angel-like character with dreadlocks, Colibri, and he's suddenly thrown back 40 years to 1983.

Rich is 25 again, and he can redo his life. Or as Colibri says: "This is your life... again."

The good news is he gets a chance to rejoin his band as well as save his brother from boarding a doomed airplane. The bad news? Colibri tells him that "once you change anything, you've changed everything."

His brother Alan is in over his head with a bookie who threatens to kill him. And the love of his life, his wife Ginger, wants nothing to do with him after he stands her up for a band gig.

Rich has only two weeks to make things right. It's one of the rules. And it comes down to the wire (doesn't it always?) in an accelerating last few minutes. Can Rich get his life back before it's too late?

It's a Wonderful Life meets Back to the Future. Maybe our ordinary lives are pretty extraordinary after all.
