About Martelle

Martelle Hammer , daughter of a magician, inspired by a drag queen, gypsy, and fool. Truly A Hooligan Dreamer, dabbled, director, proven producer, musician. A singer, with a killer set of pipes, who has performed on stage and screen in Australia and internationally. A WAAPA graduate, Martelle loves working with Elizabeth Kemp, co-director of New York’s Actor’s Studio. The Gardzienice Company in Poland also being one of life’s outstanding fundamentally inspiring disturbing loves. Invited to N.Y’s Labyrinth Theatre Company and also to Frankie’s Pizza. Seriously dangerous pizza. Lady loves the theatre. Martelle performed in The Caucasian Chalk Circle, The Seagull, As You Like It, and co-devised First and Last with Black Swan Theatre Company. A founding member of Vis-à-vis’ co-created Do Dogs Dream of Angels, touring it upon invitation to the European Cultural Festival in Krakow. Australian /World premieres including Solitude in Blue (Griffin), Sugarbomb (TRS), not premieres..Tooth of Crime (The Wharf), A. (for amazing) directed August :Osage County with graduating QUT students, producing shows across these companies including The Lights (B Sharp, Belvoir St) also playing a lead. Martelle played some psychopath’s girlfriend in Blue Heelers, and over 20 screen roles in both shorts and features, TWO ARE FINISHED! 1- Did I tell you about Jasper By Jake Neilsen &Matt Predny. Just won Audience choice award- 2014 WOW film festival. The second shall be screened at a massive festival. In Sweden(?) Martelle is a rock star, as well as channeling Eartha Kitt as the Cheshire Cat in the musical Wonderland, and continues to work as a vocalist and voice artist here, there, and in the US, proving she has a face for radio.
