SYNOPSIS:

Gareth’s plan to be a millionaire before he’s 30 is a tad behind schedule. At 29 his London based business is floundering, his car’s been repossessed and his debtors are closing in. Head of the queue is the rich and ruthless MAGGIE, whose penchant for facelifts and designer labels is outstripped only by her addiction to money. In a last ditch attempt to raise finance Gareth calls home for the first time in years and learns he’s inherited a half share of his uncle’s farm. Intent on liquidating his new-found asset, he hotfoots it to Wales with his besotted young assistant CINDY. She’s hoping that romance will blossom during the trip, though sadly Gareth only wants her for her hatchback. But love is blind and Cindy is well and truly dazzled by her employer’s good looks and charm. Not so his brother RHYS, who’s been running a pony-trekking business from the farm since their uncle died. He knows a selfish rat lurks beneath Gareth’s fetching exterior, but can’t bring himself to tell Cindy this. A disappointing valuation forces Gareth to reconsider his plans. Instead of selling up he decides to make a go of the pony-trekking business. As he explains to his brother - all that’s missing is customers. An upcoming music festival in a nearby town offers a solution. If Carregdu holds its own festival the same week they can poach the tourists passing through and establish the village as a major tourist attraction. The competition might have a castle but Carregddu has THE BLACK ROCK, an ancient monolith brooding on a nearby hillside. The villagers are quick to fall in with his proposals, seduced by the promise of huge profits. They tart up the village and organise a festival to celebrate their Celtic heritage. Not everyone’s behind Gareth’s efforts. BRYN, a love starved bachelor, is anxious that the pony trekking business fails. He desperately needs the brothers’ land, having exaggerated the size of his assets in an online chat-room. Now his Peruvian girlfriend is pressing for a visit to his non-existent Alpaca ranch. And then there’s DICK, the village sociopath, who keeps a log of his ex-wife’s encounters with members of the opposite sex, no matter how innocent. The raunchy SANDRA has her sights on gorgeous Gareth - a fact that hasn’t gone unnoticed by her obsessed ex. Bryn recruits Dick to his cause and a dastardly sabotage plot is hatched. Unfortunately the villagers underestimate the tourists’ desire to get up close and personal with a rock. So with festival week fast approaching they decide to move it into the village. As they dig it up a mysterious stranger interrupts their nocturnal shenanigans. She watches in horror as the Black Rock careens down the hillside on a makeshift sled. Her name’s MORGANA - she’s beautiful, she’s a goddess and now she’s trapped. With her supernatural skills fading fast, she demands Gareth return the Black Rock to its original location before the next full moon; failure means the portal to the Otherworld will be lost forever. He doesn’t believe a word of it of course - until he falls in love. So with the clock ticking on Morgana’s immortality, and his credibility rating at zero, Gareth undertakes the biggest sales job of his life - convincing the villagers to drag a five tonne monolith back to the summit.
