A young man, torn by guilt and haunted by the ghosts of the past, flees from himself through nine floors of nightmares, facing the demons of his actions, until a call from his beloved makes him face a choice: step into the void or find light in the darkness of his own life.
SYNOPSIS:
29-year-old Anton, who lives in a rented apartment with suspicious neighbors, is trying to escape from his beloved Tanya, fearing to disappoint her. Along the way, he encounters a series of allegorical challenges as he ascends the floors of a nine-story building.
His journey turns into a surreal journey through a nine-story house, where each floor reflects his fears and traumas: the condemnation of society, the ridicule of peers, family conflicts, financial collapse, humiliation and feelings of guilt and insolvency. Encounters with ghosts of the past and present — from aggressive neighbors to creditors and a policeman — increase his despair. On the upper floors, Anton sees Tanya, whose image transforms from a light source to a symbol of lost hope.
On the roof, standing on the verge of self-destruction, he receives a call from Tanya, whose words make him think about continuing the struggle. The finale remains open: Anton promises to return, but the viewer sees the darkness engulfing the roof, leaving the question of his fate unanswered.
Genre: psychological drama with elements of mysticism and social parable.
Format: short feature film (20-25 minutes).
Target audience: young adults (18-35 years old) who are interested in psychological dramas.
Project uniqueness: architecture as a metaphor. The nine-story house is the inner world of the hero, where each floor reflects the stages of his life, fears and injuries.
Project objectives:
Show the complexity of a person's inner struggle with guilt and self-destruction.
Emphasize the importance of supporting loved ones in moments of despair.
Create a visually rich movie, where each frame carries a symbolic load.
Note: the project "Floors " is not just a story about the crisis, but an attempt to speak to the audience in the language of symbols, where each viewer will find a reflection of their own fears and hopes.
