When a museum curator and his female assistant translate clues in an American Revolution-era journal describing a British payroll buried on Oak Island, they must go undercover to unearth the treasure before two rival treasure hunters discover it.
SYNOPSIS:
Museum curator Carlos Sheldon, whose Indiana Jones days are behind him, and his eager student assistant, Lauren, translate a British admiral's wartime journal on Oak Island that yields clues to the Money Pit treasure.
Met with suspicion by treasure hunters Saul Clemens and his son Miles, Carlos and Lauren hide their true identities, something that puts her in jeopardy with the treasure hunters. Tensions spike as rival treasure hunter Lucy Yearbright's operation closes in with the rights on Saul's former treasure search site.
As Carlos and Lauren work to discover the admiral's secret cache location, the Money Pit's anniversary shines the spotlight on the failures of the Clemens and Yearbright operations. With escalating debts and losses, Saul takes a wrong turn that poisons his relationship with son Miles as the Yearbright operation discovers the island's buried secret . . . and cruel hoax.
For Carlos and Lauren, the journal puts an "X" on a little-known but promising island cavern, and timing becomes everything as they race to extract the real treasure.
