THE FORGOTTEN VEIL

THE FORGOTTEN VEIL
By Quentin Webb

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Science Fiction
LOGLINE: "When a scientific expedition enters a remote rainforest shrouded in mystery, they discover the region erases all memories of who they are — forcing them to survive an alien wilderness and each other, unaware that one of them remembers everything."

SYNOPSIS:

Deep in the uncharted rainforest, a scientific expedition sets out to investigate a newly discovered zone where technology malfunctions, compasses spin wildly, and strange energy readings defy explanation. The team of scientists and soldiers expects a routine survey—but the moment they cross the boundary, something insidious takes hold. Their memories of who they are—names, relationships, even their purpose—begin to unravel. Stripped of identity, they stumble through the dense jungle as if reborn into a hostile wilderness, forced to rely only on instinct and fractured impressions of themselves. Tension mounts as trust erodes, alliances shift, and paranoia spreads. Unknown to the others, Commander Rios, the team’s leader, carries a mysterious artifact that shields him from the amnesia. He remembers everything: who they are, why they came, and the danger that lies ahead. Bound by duty, Rios pretends to be just as lost as the rest, guiding the group while hiding the truth of their condition. As the expedition ventures deeper, they encounter impossible phenomena—echoes of past lives, whispers of forgotten tragedies, and entities that seem to feed on memory itself. The veil between reality and nightmare grows thin. Some begin to question whether they ever truly existed before entering. To survive, they must confront the source of the veil’s power—a revelation that could shatter not only their minds, but the very foundation of human identity. And when the truth is unveiled, each will have to decide: is ignorance safer than remembering?

Sounds like an interesting premise Quentin Webb - I would consider adding stakes. Here's the template that I use for loglines: “After ______ (the inciting incident/the event that sets the plot in motion), a _______ (an adjective and the protagonist's position/role) tries to _______ (goal of story) so/in order to ________ (stakes).”

Also, I would refrain from rating your own logline. You'll want feedback and ratings from others as a true measure.
