Beth Welshans May 5 Frank William Wood-62- died last night of a heart attack. I was living with him for 12 years. The best 12 1/2 years of my life. He sobered me up and for this I give him almost full credit. He was playing and singing a song on the guitar with a few guys when he just fell over. I gave him mouth to mouth and c.p.r but he lost consciousness before the ambulance could get here. They took him to Babtist where I was told he died. I am in a state of shock- but I thought some of you ought to know because you knew Frank. He was the most gentle man I had ever met and I liked him immediately when I met him. His death was fast and he did not linger for a moment. He was doing what he loved best. Entertaining his friends at home and playing and singing. He had an awesome voice and luckily I have his music to help me carry on his lifetime passion. Frank had written more than 600 songs. He didn't write music but carried it in his head- a rare gift that few could even come close to passing. Frank and I had just gotten a new home where we were planting things in the yard like lantana and mint and herbs and all kinds of flowers and trees. He loved doing this and we have more that needs to go in the ground that I will plant myself. Frank had just gotten a new truck that he got to drive once. Frank had a fire in the fireplace going just for me. He even split the wood himself yesterday morning. I was cooking chicken pot pies when this happened and he liked those too! Frank loved my dog Scootie Boy Welshans of 14 years. I was even a little jealous of their closeness. He took that dog to Pinnacle Park and they climbed the mountain together for several years. Scoot will cry out loud for Frank and I think he knows something is missing and its Frank. Frank held my hand at my grandmothers funeral. He took long walks with me at Alsopp Park with the dogs. He did all these things and will be missed more than anyone could fathom. I loved Frank William Wood............... .
