Currently available as a novel at https://storiesbydavereyn.wordpress.com, this series is designed as a television series.

Synopsis

Nicole Marie McTavish, a bookish student of ancient languages and computer science, attends a party in the Montana Badlands. Some of the football players are taking target practice on sticks and twigs with a rifle when one bullet, then a second and third, penetrate a cave. Hidden within is a crystal prison, one trapping the greatest wizard in history: Merlin.

When Merlin makes a sudden appearance at the party, Nickie is the only one who can communicate with him. Her knowledge of Olde English is close enough to Merlin’s ancient Welsh dialect that the two can talk.

Nickie “borrows” a pickup truck and takes Merlin toward her college home in the city of Missoula. Along the way, Merlin demands they stop so he can adopt the first two magical familiars: a mountain lion Merlin names Rex.

After starting to rebuild his magical strength through food, Merlin’s focus is on finding and restoring King Arthur. Nickie persuades the mage that he will need money, a lot of money, to locate Arthur’s resting place.

Starting with winning a stake at a small roadside casino, Merlin begins to build up his funds. In a hurry to go to Las Vegas where Nickie says is the best place to raise a lot of money quickly, Merlin buys Nickie a laptop computer. Not getting an answer from the laptop when he asks it a question, Merlin utters a spell that animates the computer. He names it Archimedes after the Greek philosopher.

Nickie and Merlin spend several months creating a corporation—Magus Mineral Exploration—and accumulating funds so they can search for Arthur.

Archimedes locates Arthur. As Arthur is being unearthed, Morgana and Mordred are being unleashed from their own self-imposed sleeps.

Knowing that Arthur will need to rebuild his Round Table and stock it with new knights, Merlin, Arthur, Nickie and Archie (Archimedes) use a carnival version of the Sword in the Stone as a recruiting tool.

First Knight introduces Chris Olson, a former collegiate fencer. He joins Arthur’s Round Table after exhibiting knightly virtues while keeping a pregnant coworker from being raped in Central Park.

Second Knight adds Lucas Galvan, a one-time battlefield medic. He joins after rescuing a young mother and her son from a car crash in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Turbo sees Morgana and Mordred get their first recruit in a dissatisfied chemist who finds a naturally occurring drug that gives users bursts of superhuman speed and strength.

Mr. T. introduces someone who may be an innocent bystander who helps out a high-priced escort in Mexico. Morgana, though, isn’t so sure. She thinks he might be a plant from Merlin since the factory creating Turbo is hidden in this same Mexican resort.

Razor is a young orphan who accidentally kills her foster father, hitting his arm while he shaves with a straight razor. Portrayed as a villain, she is abused by a cop, becoming the person she was meant to be.

The Raven is a Sudanese woman seeking revenge on terrorists who murdered her parents while raiding her village. Now a high-priced assassin, The Raven is called to kill a minor Saudi sheik but decides to make the hit her way. Trapped by Saudi and government forces, Merlin and Arthur offer her a way out.

Venom introduces another scientist, this one a German herpetologist who studies deadly snake venom with the intent of creating new medicines. Verbally abused by his boss, Rudy Becker follows Morgana’s suggestion and replaces his boss’ insulin with Black Mamba venom.

The Armorer showcases a man who, crippled from the waist down, invents a suit of powered armor. Merlin and Arthur recruit him not as a knight but as a support person.

Boom features a young boy who is orphaned by an improvised explosive device made from a former American artillery shell. He grows up to become an educated bomb maker, one who bursts onto the public scene by using hundreds of drones, each carrying a pound of plastic explosive, to kill a Russian diplomat.

More Dred sets the stage for Volume Three as Morgana promotes her son Mordred as a singer. Mordred’s music appeals to the young and disillusioned, using his words and tone to build an army of dissatisfied and displaced youth.
