A disgraced archaeology professor’s search for meaning draws him into authentic Mesopotamian blood rituals, awakening Humbaba—an ancient god who offers forbidden knowledge in exchange for sacrifice, forcing him to choose between spiritual annihilation and his remaining humanity.
SYNOPSIS:
Dr. Alexander Sterling, once a respected professor of archaeology, watches his life collapse as his career, family, and sense of purpose dissolve. Isolated and desperate for meaning, he turns to authentic Mesopotamian rituals devoted to Humbaba — a primordial entity believed to communicate through extispicy, the ancient reading of sacrificial entrails. What begins as academic curiosity becomes ritual obsession, as forbidden rites trigger visions, discoveries, and unsettling rewards.
As Sterling crosses the boundary between reason and worship, the supernatural intrudes into his daily life, offering power and knowledge at an unbearable cost. Trapped between faith, madness, and revelation, Sterling is forced toward a final act that will determine not only his fate — but the price of forbidden truth.
