After witnessing unsettling signs tied to a mysterious death near her commute, a young cafĆ© worker and her friends become entangled in a creeping supernatural force connected to static, light, and unseen spaces in the city. As the danger escalates, survival depends on uncovering whatās hunting them.
SYNOPSIS:
Seoul hums with electronic life. Screens glow on every corner. Phones never stop buzzing. And beneath the city's modern infrastructure, something has learned to move through it all.
Haeri Min is a mid-twenties cafƩ worker barely surviving the weight of her own life. Overworked, homesick, and emotionally exhausted, she goes through the motions- morning commute, shift at Sky CafƩ, home to her roommate Mina, repeat. The routine is all that keeps her together.
But routine shatters the morning she walks past police tape near Cheonggyecheon River. A man has been found dead. His phone is still glowing. The officers exchange uneasy glances. No one can explain it.
At work, the day feels wrong. The cafĆ©'s lights flicker longer than they should. The TV mounted in the corner pulses with brief bursts of static, showing fragments of something else—concrete walls, hanging wires, darkness. Haeri's boss Taeseok suffers through brutal headaches. Electronics throughout the district behave strangely, as if responding to something unseen.
That evening, after Haeri closes the cafĆ© and her and Mina say goodbye to her friends Jaemin, and Seojun, Taeseok walks home alone through Seoul's back alleys. What happens to him should be impossible: flashes of light with no source, rising static that vibrates through his skull, and a force that drags him underground into a vast chamber filled with televisions—hundreds of them, wired together, pulsing with cold blue light. There, he's killed by an entity that exists in static and current.
At the exact same moment, Haeri sits in her apartment watching TV. The screen erupts. Static floods the room. And between the distortion, she sees it: the underground tunnel, the control room, the place where Taeseok is dying.
She's being shown where it lives.
Is she next?
