He lives with his loving girlfriend Kate and is being haunted by a demonic face in his nightmares. As he begins writing his book (against the disapproval from novelist and mentor Rod Jonas) he begins to push away everyone in his life as he spirals into depression, alcoholism and violence. Martin has to realize that to finish his work he must discover what life is truly about.
