About Ryan

Hello, I'm Ryan Shovey. I'm an independent Director/ Film Maker in Los Angeles looking to create new and interesting film projects. I have won a couple awards at a few different festivals over the years, and my most recent short film, Mirrored, is traveling the festival circuit as we speak. I really hope to connect with some Producers, Executive Producers, Writers, Actors, etc. who all want to make great films and videos!

Unique traits: Technical and visual directing while focusing on character and pacing. Blend of classic hollywood looks and camera movements mixed with modern techniques in color and overall tone. Well thought out plan before stepping foot on set. Trade work as an editor, meaning I know how to shoot what's needed and what's most efficient for the post production process. Works really well under pressure and sudden changes. Collaborates and communicates really well with actors, cinematographers, and post-production team. Able to stretch a dollar and make $1000 look like $1mil.
