When a late thirty-something couple at the end of their rope find out they are about to have a baby, they decide to make a bucket list of all the things they want to get done before settling down as parents, but as Jason, the pent-up and restraint husband, secretively uses the list as an escape to revitalize his drumming career and live off a tiny house in Tokyo Japan, he has to decide if living the dreams of his younger life is more important than breaking up his marriage (and family) for good.
SYNOPSIS:
Drawing from the heartfelt self-searching films of modern-day dramadies like The Bucket List, Eat Pray Love, The Way, and outrageously funny works like Juno, Knocked Up, and Baby Mama, The Baby List seeks to create a new parenthood feature for the aging Millennial. It’s a coming-of-age story for the 40-year-old. A new take on Baby Boom and She’s Having a Baby, filled with a mix of zany humor and tender moments. In this tale of reinventing love, a man goes on a journey to understand that what he is searching for is right at home.
Jason and Abigail live a very safe life. They have secure jobs, a suburban home, and are used to their daily commutes. But when Abigail tells Jason she's finally pregnant, his mortality clock starts ticking. Has he played it too safe? Will he ever jump start his drumming career? Meet his Japanese pen pal girlfriend, or get off the grid in his handmade tiny house? Now Jason has only nine months to find out, before fatherhood becomes his permanent reality. Will Jason finish everything he wants to accomplish? Or will getting arrested for buying Molly from a high school drug dealer and getting fired, separate him from Abigail even further? The Baby List is The Bucket List for millennial new parents, with the youthful edginess of Superbad and Booksmart.
