My situation: I have an agent, have booked commercials and one each bit parts in a series and a major motion picture (yay!). But there seems to be no "momentum' to speak of. I know my type - friendly Dad or quirky neighbour - have accurate, good-looking headshot, and as per above, some good credits to build on. I've also been studying on and off (off at the moment) with a great local acting coach to keep honing my skills. Should I ramp up my pursuit of theatre roles (I've done a fair bit of semiprofessional shows in the past)? My "big idea" is to work on developing an original short comedy film and getting it out there on YouTube, but I don't know if that helps reach the "gatekeepers" or not...? Thanks!
After several commercials, then some TV and MOW bit parts, I'm thrilled to have finally booked and filmed my first appearance in a feature! Yes, I played another doctor, but this time in "The 9th Life of Louis Drax", a sort of fantasy thriller. My part of it was not fantastical but it was thrilling...

Yes, I played another doctor, but this time in "The 9th Life of Louis Drax", a sort of fantasy thriller. My part of it was not fantastical but it was thrilling to be on set, working up an improvised-dialogue scene with Sarah Gadon and BREAKING BAD'S Aaron Paul! Tons of fun and very exciting to have reached this definite milestone, with hopefully more to come.
On Friday, I got the news that I'd booked a small role in the upcoming feature, "The 9th Life of Louis Drax". While it's only an SOC part, in a flashback sequence, it has the distinction of being the first feature film role I've booked! And hopefully the start of more great things to come. Also, it'...

Also, it's my third appearance as a doctor. I say, go ahead and typecast me. That's how Clooney started!
Hi all! Well, I am finally stepping forward after being a mostly-lurker here at Stage 32 for some time. After all, lurking is no way to develop connections and build community! Expand postHi all! Well, I am finally stepping forward after being a mostly-lurker here at Stage 32 for some time. After all, lurking is no way to develop connections and build community! I'm an actor in Vancouver, BC who first got the "bug" performing in community theatre and musicals... then took some acting classes, got an agent, appeared in several commercials... and today I'm thrilled to be able to say I've appeared in a few bit parts in network series and a MOW! It seems sometimes that the idea of "momentum" is elusive - it's feast or famine - but I still hope to keep developing my craft and building my credits and experience. And if all else fails, my name is invariably first alphabetically, so perhaps that will help too. Thanks Mom for the double A! I finally filled out my Stage 32 profile, especially since I now have an updated acting reel that includes my recently-aired appearance on "Stolen from the Womb" - a Lifetime movie of the week. http://vimeo.com/106408338 Very cool to know that - though they may not remember it - millions of people saw me as the cryptically-named "Dr. Chang" on this nationally broadcast drama. Yay! Here's the reel, and I look forward to "virtually" meeting some of the many talented folk here on Stage 32.
Thanks for taking the initiative to finally introduce yourself! i hope this leads you to connections and opportunity that could change your life :)
I'm expecting nothing less than a life-changing experience, Shannon! 8^) Thanks!
That guy with the wasps - is he in charge of the Federal Reserve Board?
My favourite TV appearances – from kindly doctor to wacky physical comedy to tough henchman! I've appeared in ads for Suddenlink, Kal Tire, Peugeot, and Nike. I've also made cameo appearances in Untold Stories of the ER and Psych, plus the Lifetime movie, "Stolen From the Womb". I may not be a doctor, but I've sure played one a lot on TV!
