Robert Webb is a Production Designer based in Australia. He has a wealth of experience and relationships within the Film Industry, having made his start working in Art Department on films such as Rabbit Proof Fence, One Night the Moon and Aussie Rules. He quickly rose to Art Department Head on the award winning film Modern Love. He has since designed feature films, including Ten Empty, Beautiful and The Caterpillar Wish for which he won the Inside Film Award for Best Production Design in 2006.
Robert then designed Greg McLean’s break out hit Wolf Creek which screened at Sundance and sold to Dimension Films and for which he was a finalist for Best Production Design at the AFI’s in 2007. Robert then went on to design McLean’s $30M follow up, the croc thriller Rogue where he headed up a team of over 40 people and had the extraordinary opportunity to build vast sets including an island, a crocodile lair, a tourist boat and the atmospheric General Store. A film which Robert was and is proud to have been part of.
Following Rogue Robert was lucky to do the acclaimed Doco/Drama Forbidden Lies .
Then came The Loved Ones the debut feature by director Sean Byrne . The Loved Ones won the Best Film of the year at the Midnight Madness Festival in Toronto and later is in the best 10 horror films of the last 25 years from the Midnight Madness Festival. 2009 was the year of Stuart Beattie, the scriptwriter of international renown’s directorial debut with Tomorrow When the War Began which became the highest Australian Box office earner of 2010 and for which Robert was again a Finalist at the AFI’s for Best Production Design.
Wolf Creek 2 in 2012/13 Robert’s next feature was eagerly awaited by fans of Wolf Creek 1.
Released Febuary 20/2014 . It topped the Australian box office on the opening weekend the first Australian film to do so since Crocodile Dundee. It went on to be a box office winner.
