SYNOPSIS:

“Children In The Basement” is a dark and twisted fairy tale that is part mystery thriller, part horror. It follows October Hawkins, a 12 year old girl mistakenly diagnosed with schizophrenia and her police officer father, Pete, as they move to the small and quiet town of Saint Hope, Vermont. Pete is hoping to leave his life as a Detroit homicide detective behind him, and October is trying to conquer her nightmarish past. But unbeknownst to either, Saint Hope holds a dark secret in the form of The Hunter, an elderly man who kidnaps and murders children as part of an ancient ritual. While alone one night in her new home, October encounters the ghost of Lucas Black, a thirteen year old boy and former resident of her new house that fell victim to The Hunter ten years prior. When another boy is kidnapped, Lucas enlists October to help him find The Hunter, who is still lurking in the shadows of Saint Hope and killing behind closed doors. Though reluctant at first, October embraces her gift and the quest for the killer begins. While October and Lucas are lead into the malevolent underbelly of Saint Hope, crossing paths with both the living and the dead, Pete is commanding the investigation of the current abduction. In doing so he is dragged into a sinister labyrinth where things are much deeper than they appear and far darker than he could have imagined.
