Originally a fine artist, I got behind a video camera for first time in the late '80s and WOW -- images, movement, drama, music all changing in time -- I was hooked. Produced my first feature documentary in '87, and finally won an Emmy in the early 2001 (www.asimplematter.com).
After multiple screenwriting classes through UCLA and Screenwriting U, I'm off to the races. A recently completed feature thriller (Sentinel Event) was entered in several 2014 competitions and initial feedback has been fantastic: Quarterfinalist for the Academy Nicholl Fellowship, the Page International Screenwriting Award, and the Screenwriting Goldmine Award. Fingers crossed -- here we go!
I'm still a working ER doc and disaster expert, and hope to pursue additional jobs as a expert/consultant on medical-based films.
Unique traits: Graphic artist, videographer, video editor, musician, ... and dog lover.
