About Shanae

Shanae Christine Harris was born and raised in the heart of the south Bronx. As a teenager she moved to Lakeland,Florida with her family where she lived for some time and was involved in the Drama club of her high school where she developed an interest for music, dance, model and writing. Shanae found her passion for acting and decided to move back to New York to pursue her artistry on a serious level.

Shanae began her acting career after attending The Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre; Studio of James Brill. Shanae has worked on several theater stages in New York, embodying various rolls, from a deteriorated, entrapped slave in the play 'Wabugu: The Exile' for the New York New Works Theatre Festival to a courageous, powerful and determined single mother in 'Brother Sou' a play performed for the Thespis Theatre festival.

Shanae has also worked on TV, Web-series, commercials and has flourished on several independent films such as the psychological thriller: 'Perception', social commentary drama: 'What If', Horror film: 'Defarious', as well as: 'Never' an intense silent drama collaborated with award winning music composer David Rosen, bringing awareness on the subject matters of domestic violence. Soon after Shanae began to work with acclaimed award winning director: Julius B Kelly on the drama film, titled: 'Wait for me' and has joined his production team SunnySide Down Productions on their upcoming film: 'Good Men'

Always maintaining a practical awareness she knew breaking into the industry would have its challenges. Shanae made sure to further her education and secure a job in health care. Shes worked in the Nursing field for several years, as well as an Emergency Medical Responder until she received a transitional opportunity for paramedic and attend the New York Fire Department EMS division. It wasn't until she joined FDNY EMS academy, Shanae realized she had to decide which passion to pursue further. Following her heart for the arts Shanae embraced her journey, saving lives by day and developing her craft by night.

This driven, dynamic and multi faceted artist proves that you can indeed have more then one passion and excel at each one if you truly aspire to do so.
