Hey there!

My name is Barry and I’m a scriptwriter working in the Chicago area. The bulk of my experience has been in audio (I wrote a Stage 32 blog on writing for audio, which you can find at https://www.stage32.com/blog/Four-Crucial-Guidelines-for-Writing-Compelling-Audio-Drama). I wrote dramas for the Moody...

Hey how are you doing? Im new to this here for networking.

Thanks Barry. I love your dramatic overtures advice.

Brian Alan DeLaney

There is some great advice here.

Very good points! Say, why not put a pic from the radio version of Gunsmoke instead of the TV version? Different cast.

Barry Richert

Right you are! Just to keep everything accurate, here's a picture of Parley Baer as Chester Proudfoot and William Conrad as Marshal Matt Dillon from the radio cast of Gunsmoke.

Linda Bradshaw-Rogers

Visibility, James Arness, was definitely a better Matt Dillion.

A guest blog I wrote on writing audio drama has been posted today. You can find it in the Blog section. Feel free to comment with any questions!

What famous movie you wish you wrote?

What movie you wish you wrote its screenplay? It can be any movie you think of, from classics to the latest release to epic blockbusters... Also, what would you've done differently?

Andrew Hilton

I wrote a Dunkirk script 15 years ago and my agent wouldn't send it out because nobody wanted WWII stories. I shelved it as my passion project to revisit, moved onto other projects, and then Nolan beat me to the finish line. Good for him, but it does sting.

Nishela Sharen Sirimanne, Thanks for the compliment and have a great day.

Damola Taiwo

Nishela Sharen Sirimanne, Since, you are an actress and making movies, you must be famous. At least, you are still doing something with your talents. More blessing to you.

Reading Screenplays

I try to read screenplays every chance I get and I often find that the best ones are those that, when you're reading them, you forget that they're a screenplay. I'm currently reading the Gone Girl script and can't stop chuckling to myself. Gillian Flynn is able to get so much humour and wit into so...

Team – I took a quick look at KINGSTOWN – it’s not bad, a little redundant in spots.

Doug, thanks. All of the things you mention seemed to go without saying. Maybe that's just me. I've always heard people talk about incorrect formatting but I guess I don't see much of it. But I haven'...
