About Taylor

Born and bred in the hidden suburbs of small town Perth, Western Australia, I have steadfastly devoted my adult years to seeing as much of the world as possible. Some make critique the run-away as overcompensating for the fear of a 'small pond', but don't worry; I fired that therapist.

I am the daughter of an artistic realist and a poetic safety supervisor. Needless to say, it has been a confusing journey of mixed ideals through my childhood, which has now led me to the completely stable pursuit of a life in the arts.

Beginning with song lyrics in the school yard (NB: softly singing to yourself in the sandbox is the key to a life of solitude), I have moved towards writing for film and tv since I first learnt it was a legitimate career choice.

The many unpublished lyrics, short stories and half-started novels have now become an arsenal of many unpublished spec scripts, pilots and series bibles. My deal with the devil should kick in shortly, but until then...

I have been blessed with the good luck and bad karma of having a career in the Production Office of many Australian tv series, and on the set of several Hollywood blockbusters that made their way down under to utilise the tax benefits. And please, keep them coming. Do not be afraid of our politicians' threats towards your beloved dogs. That guy got fired after impregnating his secretary. We might not first in the embarrassing government race (cough Trump), but we are a close second.

My experience in the Pre-, Production and Post side of things has only further inspired my dedication to moving into Writing and Development.

Books, tv, films, plays - have all animated my life, and taught me lessons, trivia and humour that are still travelling with me. To this day, my favourite joke is one from John Marsden's Tomorrow, When the War Began. Name three types of olives. You can get brown, you can get green, and you can get stuffed.

I write for many genres, including Drama, Action, Science Fiction, Family and Romance. I do no write Comedy (for obvious reasons).
