About Katherine

I was 5 years old when I decided that making movies exist is what I wanted to do when I grew up; I even knew that the written word was the main way I would likely do that. I spent the next few decades trying to still look for ways to realize that dream, while still being a responsible (single) mother who didn't risk her a stable roof over her child's head, just to pursue my dreams.

Meanwhile, what I write and what matters to me shifted significantly in several ways, particularly as my health and mobility suffered from a genetic lottery that made me feel an awful lot like the character of Vincent, as portrayed by Danny DeVito, in the film "Twins." But along the way, I learned that the art of storytelling is just as important in non-fiction, like when you're speaking truth to power or you're revealing a part of human history that our society is afraid to examine too closely. And I began to prioritize education over entertainment - particularly comprehensive, age-appropriate, scientifically accurate, sexual education mandated for all K-12 students. I would give up every dream I ever had, about being a filmmaker and storyteller, to make that goal a reality. Because I am acutely aware of the damage this imposed sexual ignorance is doing to our society.

I still write stories about unique connections between complicated characters, tales that live at the place where a good chuckle meets an inviting love story. I still have dozens of scripts, short stories and other fictional projects in progress, some of which have made the transition from my head to my hard drive and some which haven't. I also have my eye on other facets of film production, including editing and directing. And I have a firm belief that we need to work harder to make our stories reflective of diverse cultures, the complexities of our societies and environments, and rooted firmly in a new consent-cultural revolution - none of which precludes a story full of fantasy, adventure, science fiction and passion.

And if you think this bio is too personal, and doesn't talk enough about my writing, my technical and creative expertise and my desire to connect to, and learn from, other great storytellers, that's okay. It won't be apparent to everyone, why I choose to express and describe myself in the ways I do, whether professionally or personally. But there's a madness to my method, that is entirely apparent to me.

Questions, comments and collaborative inquiries quite welcome. You want to read something of mine - including my portfolio of highly-rated erotic fiction - just ask. Want to know more about my activism on topics like sexual freedom, civil rights and consent culture? I'm an open book. And if you think we could be the writing partner of one another's dreams, I'm certainly keen to have such a discussion. :)

Unique traits: Bright purple cane, streaks of blue in my hair, and an mindset that roars, "Age of the geek, baby!"
