Paul Wildman is an award winning filmmaker who has spent more than a decade as a cinematographer, producer, editor and animator, and most recently director of photography.
After earning a degree in fine arts and advertising, Paul spent the first 5 years of his career filming commercial advertising projects and running a production studio for Shift Interactive, one of South Africa's top agencies, and then, started another studio Amorphous New Media - and was an equity owner for 10 years, selling his interest this year to Johnnic Holdings Ltd. He commercially filmed and produced for Sony, Virgin, British Airways, MTN, Eukanuba, Sasol, Mini, and Nedbank. During this time, Paul's work was nominated for Loerie Awards in both 2002 & 2003, for excellence in television, multimedia, Internet design, and radio.
With a passion for diving and filming underwater, in 2004 he started Lkwid, an underwater production studio. Paul perfected his underwater cinematography skills, developed unique skills filming with the oceans top predators, and also trained dozens of locals as well. He sold it in 2009, to start WildSphere Productions and Built By Wildman.
He has just finished shooting a documentary for a filmmaker, Rob Stewart, whose last film, Sharkwater, won 35 awards and works closely with other Emmy nominated and award-winning producers, directors and cinematographers.
Paul is also altruistic and heavily committed to the environment, donating thousands of hours to supporting non-profits particularly related to ocean causes. Paul currently serves as the chief designer and brand expert, and is responsible for all film and creative efforts serving as the Director of Photography, Director and Producer, for shark angels, united conservationists, and previously shark savers and sea shepherd. He currently sits on the board of advisor's of both Shark Angels and United Conservationists.
