About Michel

I always loved movies, music and being outgoing. When time allowed in the 80s and 90s, I would watch movies and listened to music when not studying during post-secondary education. I tried electronics technology at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Canada, switched to theatre at the University of Ottawa (in Ottawa, Canada) and became a professional stunt man. A BA in English was completed at the same university after turning down scholarship with the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (could not afford it). A year after graduation I was encouraged to apply to the Institute of Children's Literature for education by correspondence. I submitted their aptitude test and was was accepted. I completed the "Writing for Children and Teenagers" diploma in 1995 while writing and producing (business partner at the time was the director) my first sci-fi short "The Degree of Courage", about an 11-year old girl who confronts her greatest fears while overcoming the flu.
I was invited to take a graduate course with the Institute of Children's Literature. I completed the diploma "Writing Children's Books: The Craft and the Market" 1998, and went into production for my next short "She Shoots, He Scores", acting as writer, producer, director and editor. In this short, a young girl is playing shinny with her brothers. They start an argument about the boy she likes when he walks into view. Girl and boy start talking and walk away together.
My business partner and I would go on to make the shorts "Mind Joust"and "Silent Touch" (both clips included in promo video at this site), before we went into production for our sci-fi feature "6 FOR 7". My business partner went into another life direction after we completed principle photography for "6 FOR 7", but I continue to make videos for various producers.

Unique traits: I learn technical things quickly
