Is Lucas the protagonist? Doesn't sound like it. If he is, what does he face (obstacles)?

Needs more adjectives that make each pop. What kind of alien species? What kind of adult? What group of humans?

I'd replace "and kills" with "who kills." Next, telling me his proper name - Robert Morton - tells me nothing about who he really is as a protag. This reminds me of a reverse Logan
