A young panda bear escapes from a private zoo sets out to discover his history, heritage and culture. Along the way, 12 Zodiac guides must each impart one virtue before he can fulfill his destiny and restore China’s lost treasures.

SYNOPSIS:

When an earthquake destroyed his village in China, young Panda was taken into captivity and ‘Shanghaied’ over the great Pacific and raised in a private zoo by an evil landowner, memory of his past completely forgotten. His only friend: a small rat named Andrew.

Panda begins remembering his past when Snow Leopard arrives at the zoo and speaks Mandarin. The three companions escape during another earthquake and embark on a journey that takes them to the San Francisco zoo. There, an elder snow leopard recognizes Panda’s strange markings and realizes he may be the mighty panda that the ancient prophets spoke of. He tells Panda to find the Elder of Chinatown as quickly as he can.

Black market traders capture Panda and his friends as they search for Chinatown. They place them in cages and hide them in a warehouse, but their actions don’t go unnoticed. The Elder of Chinatown lives in the abandoned theater next to the warehouse and sneaks in to free the animals late that night.

The Elder of Chinatown recognizes Panda’s strange markings and hides them in the old Chinese theater. There, Panda unwittingly passes his first test. The Elder also knows that the 12 Zodiac Guides must each teach Panda one virtue, beginning with Andrew the Rat!

Destiny awaits us all. And, these companions won’t be safe in Chinatown for long!
