SYNOPSIS:
A mentally handicapped man, Scotus Duns, possesses supernatural insight into the workings of the universe. As a series of murders erupt within the confines of his residential community, the Carousel Apartments, he quickly realizes a killer has stolen and misinterpreted his esoteric knowledge and is gruesomely murdering the tenants in a desperate attempt to achieve eternal life. Everyone is suspect, but it’s up to Scotus to undermine the killer.

Primarily a single (large hotel) location or stage set shoot. This film is claustrophobic, intense, and thought provoking.
RETARD also promotes a mentally handicapped lead character who is the hero and the only one truly in-the-know of things. A very strong, positive portrayal of a mentally handicapped individual.
