Over time, Broadway, our anti-hero begins to piece together the details of his brother's murder and discovers his demonic employers may be to blame.

Getting rank and sales numbers from Amazon as a writer can be confusing, so I used an equation to figure out if I was ranked 32,000 as a sci fi/fantasy/YA/movie author out of 900,000 listed authors they chart, where do I really stand with reader metrics and in the whole internet matrix of nonsense and worthiness...So if you use What % is x of 100% plug 32k as x and 900k as the ceiling for 100%, and go 100/x=percent (ratio) we land at 3.5%. How did I arrive there? I wrote a great short story. I posted it to #Amazon. I wrote funny and incisive keywords because I am a practiced writer. The boost got it to No. 5 in sci fi short list top 10 in 2 days existing on Amazon. I'm only a decent writer now with some success because I have practiced everyday since I was 3 years old. I have dedication to that craft. And really one major other talent: observing and interpreting human behavior for an emotional record of our lives. I like to add monsters as plot devices to describe this record but no one said we couldn't have a little fun on a journey to destroy ourselves.
Alright my story held its own for a week on Amazon's Top Ten in Sci Fi & Fantasy briefly reaching #5 in the genre list...now I can introduce myself as Amazon Best Seller John Maye. For three reasons: 1) Accomplishment. 2) Ego. Mostly for 3) Because it is funny. Bricklayer at http://amzn.to/2j5hPNo...

Expand postJohn Travis here, I have 3 projects currently moving through agencies like Circle of Confusion, Twin Padres Entertainment, UTA, Ghost House Pictures, and Paramount. I write indie dramas, commercial TV pilots mostly sitcoms, and my personal favorite niche is horror comedy. I make the scary frighteningly raw and sprinkle the tension with some great jokes. Mini bio: "....been a screenwriter, actor, comedian (has appeared in clubs such as World Famous Comedy Store, Laugh Factory), and podcast host with accolades as a finalist for multiple years in the Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting, a semi-finalist in the Austin Film Festival, and "Night Work" marks him as a finalist in the Screencraft 2014 Horror Awards." 310-968-7136 therealjohntmaye@gmail.com http://linkedin.com/in/realjohntmaye https://twitter.com/realjohntmaye Latest episode of Binge Watchers Podcast: http://bit.ly/writehard1
Impressive resume, John! Horror comedy is my favorite niche drama to write (music) for as well! You laugh, you cry, you scream. What's not to love! :-) I'm looking forward to checking out your podcast. What have you been working on lately?
As long as I hit 5 pages a day and promote and try to close deals on what's already out there I feel like I did well...However, when parts in motion slow down it can get worrisome.
I definitely get that. But hey, 5 pages sounds like a great daily goal!
