About Marlene

In my move from NYC to LA, I transitioned from theater to, primarily, film. One of my first roles was the lead in a short romantic dramedy, called "The Way We Were," which won at the Santa Barbara Film Fest, and I just wrapped the lead in a short film about four seniors who come out of retirement to pull a bank heist (think Carmen Sandiego with a tommy gun). To be PC, women in my age group are referred to as "mature." That being said... if you're looking for a frail, little old lady, well, I'm not your girl. However, if you're looking for depth, range, and a woman who knows how to survive by her wits (through comedy or drama), let's talk!

Please note that the Aegis and Telly Awards are for “Mindsets,” a video I wrote for a non-profit organization that provides support to families of special-needs children, through a teen volunteer program: ?v=fcdYwFubHP4

The device (the lines have a negative message, when read in the first order and a positive message, when read in reverse) was requested by the client, based on two videos he'd seen.

Unique traits: Excellent with accents, dialects, and medical/scientific terminology. Speak Spanish with an accent good enough to be mistaken for a Latina, but my vocabulary "es muy pequeño.":-) And I do love "a bit of ballroom."
