Noel Calcaterra

Noel Calcaterra is a singer, actress, dancer, and choreographer, who works mainly in stage musicals. She studied at the Musical Theatre School of Montevideo, in Uruguay, and after that with the best teachers from Uruguay, Argentina, and USA specially in tap dancing, jazz, singing and acting. In 2013 she did an acting for film workshop at New York Film Academy, in Los Angeles, at Universal Studios. Her first significant role was the leading part of Roxie Hart in 'Chicago' awarded with the Golden Iris as the best show of the year. Her musical theatre experience includes the roles in the most important musicals in her country like 'Hunchback of Notre-Dame' (Esmeralda), 'Robin Hood' (Lady Marian), 'West Side Story' (María), 'Opera do Malandro' (Teresihna), as well as other local productions such as Madonna Bonus Track¨(Madonna) They don’t match, The Troupe for children, ¨Little hero. She was nominated as best actress three times, for her roles of Esmeralda, Lady Marian and Bety at the Florencios awards.

Since 2007 she joined the orchestra of Maestro Raul Medina, as a singer, dancer and choreographer.

Her first participation on TV was in 2009, when she won a contest, to become the lead part of the very know brasilian musical “Doña Flor y sus dos Maridos”. In 2010 Noel was invited by the English composer Clive Nolan to sing on his project 'Otra Vida'. The bilingual English-Spanish album was recorded in England and released in South America in 2011. The album was narrated by the very famous and amazing actress, China Zorrilla In autumn of 2012 Noel recorded the part of Jessamine (a picketpocket) for the album version of 'Alchemy', the last musical creation of Nolan with amazing reviews in Europe. The album was ranked 8th in the ranking of the best albums of the year according to Prog Archives , and album of the month for " EMPIRE " , Germany, and "IO Pages" , England.
Between 2011 and 2013, Noel starred in her own musical production, 'Brunette'. The show takes the audience into the world of the most popular musicals in the history, where she shows her skills as a complete performer. The show was soported by the Embassy of the United States of America, and she also did a show during the jazz week for the Embassy.

She sang and danced, during all 2014 summer season at the “Conrad Hotel”, the most important hotel of Punta del Este, job that she is been doing for 7 years now.
She worked as a choreographer in most of the musicals she was included, like “Chicago”, “Madonna Bonus Track”, “Brunette”, and also for very important companies (Loreal, Swiss Just, Tit fashion store, Maroñas Entertainment, Chanel 4, Conrad Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Punta Carretas Shopping, Solanas, etc), designers (Oscar Alvarez, José Pedro Masulli, Susana Wernik), and publicity companies as “Metropolis films” (Uruguay: OCA Card, Institucional Teledoce), “Locomotion” (Cartoons company: Beta 3, Zina, Guardianes de Oz, Pluggies, El pequeño Héroe).
As advertising model she has participated in many campaigns , Toyota (Los Angeles) , Classical Nescafé (Latin America , with Javier " Poty " Castillo , director of choreography of Look who´s dancing¨, Univision , Miami) , Movistar, Colcafé ( Colombia ), Visa Mundial, Wallmart, among others .
She worked for a Show company called “MYCSHOWS” (www.mycshows.net) for 7 years at her country, making all kind of musicals productions for events, theatre and publicity.
Noel also have Tertiary studies in Business Administration, with a title at the University of the Republic (Montevideo, Uruguay)
