Oscar Nominee Garry Waller is an American Cinematographer with an impressive body of workin Hollywood for nearly twenty-five years. He grew up in Palmdale, California frequenting the local 2 screens Drive-In. His mother and father - Wilma worked civil service for the Army base, James at Edwards Air Force Base Department of Flight Research (DFRC) researching heat and stress analysis on the ‘Flying Bathtub’ commonly known today as the Space Shuttle’.

Two months there brought a career breakthrough to work at LucasFilm in Marin County, California.

His debut film there working on VFX was 'Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back’ creating 100’s of motion blur ‘flak’ bursts. After four years at LucasFilm he moved on to Boss Films in Marina del Rey to continue working on several more movies. He collected an Oscar nomination for his work on the film ‘Poltergeist II: The Other Side’ while there.
