SYNOPSIS:

Nellie Bly- a self made woman who dressed in pink so often it became her nickname. She took herself out of an abusive family situation,and all the way up to becoming an investigative journalist for The World (Joseph Pulitzer's newspaper). Yet to get the job she had to dive deep into the depths of insanity- her first job was a report on the Woman's Lunatic Asylum on Blackwells island. This all happened in the late 1800s, when women didn't yet have the vote in America and were expected to work only if the desperation of being poor led them to it. A female journalist at this time was unheard of.
