THE COMEBACK OF CASEY MADDEN

LOGLINE:

A struggling actor lays everything he’s got left on the line to give his big screen dream one final shot.

SYNOPSIS:

Actor CASEY MADDEN has been training himself for the audition of a major comic book movie role Battering Ram his whole life.But his agent fails to get him the audition as promised.

JUNE REESE, a photographer and barista (who Casey doesn’t really get along with), shows him the latest copy of Variety, which reveals the dream role he was trying to audition for has gone to a heartthrob TV actor named Trent Lucian. June seems very familiar with the sight of Trent Lucian.

Casey gets dropped by his agent. With no representation and next to nothing in his bank account, Casey re-dedicates himself to making his acting dream come true once and for all even if he ends up homeless. He seeks out and lands a young new agent to represent him named GAVIN. Casey works side jobs and barters with June to get her to shoot new headshots for him. As a result, June and Casey begin to bond more and more.

Casey strikes up a friendship with rising movie actor ROLAND MICHELSEN. He advises Casey to stay focused and not let anything or anyone deter him from his goal.

Casey gets evicted from his apartment. June lets him crash on her futon for a night. Attraction grows when Casey saves June from choking on dry cereal. That night, June hides a picture frame from her hallway that has with a picture of her and a much younger Trent Lucian.

Casey totals his car while texting back his new agent Gavin about an audition.

Casey’s father DON GOFF, who doesn’t approve of Casey’s career choice, comes across a photo of a younger June and Trent Lucian at a movie premiere. He shows this to Casey. Casey confronts June on this and she tells him that she and Trent used to date before he became famous. Casey is devastated by this and can’t get over the fact that she dated the person who took his dream role from him.

Casey withdraws from the relationship he and June have going. Casey also succumbs to his lack of success as an actor, quits his coffee shop job, and takes a position at the insurance agency his father works at. Roland tells Casey that he should keep pushing on his dream regardless of his circumstances. Casey’s new agent tells him he just got him a major movie audition that could really get the ball rolling but Casey decides to put acting on the shelf.

Casey soon realizes that pushing June away because of her past was a bad decision.He runs back to June and pleads for a second chance. June isn’t sure she wants to be with him.But one thing she is sure of is that she only dates guys who go for their dreams.Casey knows that his acting dream is what he really wants too.June loans Casey her truck to get to the major audition Gavin booked him. When he enters the audition, he sees Roland sitting with the casting agent.Casey grins.
