They picked him and they are flying to MI to film his "desk sergeant" character. I have NEVER heard of this before. Has anyone ever heard a film going to a no-name actor to film a small scene for a film? I'm confused, happy for this guy, but confused. I can't fathom auditioning for a film and then say I couldn't make their location. I would be blacklisted, or at the very least, not a good name in the industry. If anyone has heard of this let me know how it works. Thank you.
Could be that the production can get a tax credit for shooting in MI -- I know that Michigan has a tax incentive program, so the producers might have figured a way to get some other footage done there as well.
They do get many films. Maybe my husband misunderstood about the New York audition. Maybe part was shooting in MI and he submitted to New York. That makes way more sense. Thanks for your answers guys :-)
Mi. tax credits, not sure that's true anymore. http://www.freep.com/story/news/local/2015/07/10/snyder-signs-bill-endin......

Nice photos!
Thank you.
You are very welcome, Princess! Welcome to my Magic Kingdom!
Keep your eyes bright and filled with inspiration. Tis not worth living only half a life.
Direct movies, with lots of action, big crowd scenes as well as intimate character moments, about really difficult subjects.
That has been my question to myself, yet worded a little different. Mine is: "If you knew you couldn't fail, what would your goals be?" Now that doesn't mean you would not stumble, or perhaps stub you...

Now that doesn't mean you would not stumble, or perhaps stub your toe, but in the long run you would succeed. I believe one has to pursue any endeavor with the fervor that they cannot fail in order to be ready for the many doors that will be slammed into their faces.

But if I were ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEED at least some level of success (i.e. same income level), I would leave my full-time job to become a full-time filmmaker. (and part-time woodworker). I'm kinda working on that right now, so, as I said, not much would change :)
Thank you. Loved to hear it. I love to do improve but you can never know everything.
Thanks for connecting, Sherri! It's always nice networking with local like-minded creatives! If you get a chance, I would love to hear your thoughts regarding my showreel! Hopefully we'll get an opportunity to work together in the near future! We are almost neighbors! :) https://www.youtube.com/watc...

Expand commentAs a creative, I believe everyday is a new opportunity to grow and learn more about our craft! The director worked with several of my peers on his last feature project. One of my good friends recommended that I audition for the project and I got cast! This year I am focusing more on scripts that really come alive to me. In the past, I generally accepted most of the roles I was offered, now I am a little more selective and specific in the roles I choose. I have enough footage for my reel, so I pursuing projects with bigger budgets. That's not to say that the project has to be paid, it just has to be right for me, if that makes sense? :) Meeting up for coffee or wine would be fabulous! I am going to submit for Heyman this week. If I get a meeting, maybe we can meet up on my way back to Michigan? :)

They focus more on commercials and modeling but have been getting people cast in big budget features thst come through Ohio. Not sure of any issues of where or how far talent lives. But you'll find that out :-)
That all sounds wonderful! I will let you know how things go with Heyman and maybe we can meet up in the coming weeks! I'm looking foward to it, stay tuned! :)

I love doing comedy or physical stunts, but really I just love to act and entertain while telling a story. All parts of the business have fascinated me since I was little watching all the great works from early Hollywood and around the world. Kurosawa being one of my favorite directors. Don't get me started on theatre, I love it so much it's hard to pick a topic.
Welcome Sherri. How is the industry in Ohio? I'm always fascinated to hear how things are outside of Hollywood. Is there much film/TV work or is it mostly stage?
It's not bad, but I don't have much to compare it with. I've never tried it anywhere else. Ohio has a film incentive and a few Hollywood films have come through here. I auditioned for Schwarzenegger's film, but did't get it.
Thanks. Nice to meet you.
